Terry Richardson on cover of Super Lawyers

Barnwell, South Carolina – RPWB founding member Terry Richardson was featured on the cover of the 2017 edition of South Carolina Super Lawyers, a publication highlighting the state’s top lawyers.

For the third year in a row, Richardson has been named a Top 10 South Carolina attorney by the publication.

Entitled The Energizer, the article profiles Richardson’s rise from a farm in Barnwell to become a pre-eminent plaintiff attorney in the United States:

He has lived all but 12 years in Barnwell, raised his family there, and made a name for himself winning cases “for the little guy.” He gained acclaim in the ‘70s representing plaintiffs in asbestos cases, and more recently, two cases that resulted in record settlements.

At 71-years-old, Richardson continues to have a tireless work ethic:

“He’s going full bore,” says Harry Revell of Nicholson Revell in August, Georgia, who has been co-counsel with Richardson over 30 years. “With the success he’s had over the span of his career and the good outcomes he’s helped achieve, one would think he might get out the rocking chair and kick his feet up. I hate to use the proverbial description of the Energizer Bunny, but it’s true. He just goes and goes and goes and goes.”

“He takes multitasking to a new level,” Revell continues. “He typically carries two cell phones with him, talking with someone on one and dictating something using that information into the other.”

In addition to his famed asbestos work during the early days of product liability litigation against manufacturers, the article highlights his work on the 2006 Graniteville train wreck and chemical spill as well as the help he provided to Manuel Salazar, who was electrocuted at a construction site.

Another RPWB founding member, Charles Patrick, was named the top plaintiff personal injury product liability attorney in Charleston, and was one of only two listed for the entire state. Patrick played a prominent role in the landmark tobacco settlement in the late 1990s. He continues to work extensively in product liability cases throughout the country.

RPWB managing attorney Blair Hahn was recognized as a Super Lawyer for his work on class actions and mass torts, particularly those involving pharmaceutical drugs and medical devices. Hahn is a consumer watchdog for people harmed by pharmaceutical drugs. He has worked as lead counsel of seven large multi-district litigations and held leadership positions in many more.

RPWB of-counsel attorney Brady Thomas was again named as a Super Lawyers Rising Star for his work on personal injury/product liability cases. It is the third year in a row Thomas has received the designation.
