William Camden Lewis Of Counsel

William Camden Lewis, a former federal prosecutor, has a varied practice that includes defending people accused of white-collar crimes, representing whistle blowers in qui tam actions under the False Claims Act, and bringing claims on behalf of those who have been seriously harmed by defective products, corporate wrongdoing, or negligence.

Prior to joining RPWB, Lewis worked as an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of South Carolina. As a trial attorney, he prosecuted public corruption, white-collar fraud, healthcare fraud, human trafficking, narcotics and violent crime. In his time as an AUSA, Lewis successfully tried numerous cases to verdict and argued cases before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. For his work as an AUSA, Lewis received the FBI Director’s Commendation in 2018 and the United States Attorney’s Award for Excellence in Prosecution in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Prior to joining the United States Attorney’s Office, Lewis was an associate attorney at Nexsen Pruet, where he handled white-collar criminal defense, whistleblower actions, and business disputes. After law school, he clerked for the Honorable Costa M. Pleicones of the South Carolina Supreme Court.

Lewis graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina School of Law and holds an undergraduate degree in economics from Washington and Lee University, where he captained the baseball team.

Lewis is married to Allison Foster Lewis, and they are expecting their first child this year. Lewis is the son of the late Arthur Camden Lewis and the Honorable Mary Geiger Lewis, United States District Court Judge in the District of South Carolina.
