Charleston, SC…..Richardson Patrick Westbrook & Brickman attorney Tom Gressette was a special guest speaker at the 2009 Federal Criminal Practice Seminar sponsored by the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the District of South Carolina in coordination with the Charleston School of Law. Mr. Gressette's presentation addressed creative ways to present client histories at sentencing. Mr. Gressette has given a series of seminars on this subject, the first of which was in Birmingham, Alabama as part of a training session sponsored by the Administrative Office of the United States Courts. His recent article, "A Practical Guide to Storytelling at Sentencing" also deals with this subject and appears as the cover story of the January 2009 issue of The Champion, the journal of the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys.
