Former Pipefitter Recovers More Than $500,000 in Asbestos Verdict

Mt. Pleasant, S.C. — Richardson Patrick Westbrook & Brickman, LLC (RPWB) announced today that a jury in Oakland County, Michigan has awarded more than $500,000 to a client suffering from asbestosis. Jurors returned the verdict of $542,520 against McMaster Carr Supply Company in a 1/0 asbestosis case. McMaster Carr was found to be 50% at fault even though the defendant placed 114 non-parties on the verdict form. McMaster Carr is a supplier of mechanical, electrical and utility hardware worldwide and is based in Elmhurst, Illinois. The plaintiff was a pipefitter who worked at the Ford Rouge plant in Dearborn, Michigan.
